The General joined the Women’s Army Corps in 1975 and later integrated in to the Regular Army where she served in uniform until 2007. During that time, she commanded five times, spent time on the Joint Staff at the Pentagon and served nine years overseas. She has extensive experience in Command-and-Control Communications and Computers. Her last assignment before retirement was with a Defense Agency where she served as Director of Operations at the beginning of the 2nd Iraq War and Vice Director of the Agency. The Agency has a global mission and supports all Combatant Commanders, the President and the Vice President.
